apply.
The fare area of the Transportation Association Berlin-Brandenburg
(VBB) covers the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg including
their rural districts and the cities of Brandenburg such as
Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam. Although the VBB fare area
is divided into several zones, it provides one structure, a uniform
assortment of tickets, the same conditions of transport and fare
regulations as well as one information system.
For Berlin and Brandenburg’s cities, tariff areas are defined and
divided into tariff zone A, B, and C. Tariff zone C also belongs to
the county of the respective cities except for the city of Potsdam
which belongs to Berlin’s tariff zone C.

The Berlin tariff area is subdivided into zones A, B and C.
Zone A: Berlin's inner city up to and including
the urban rail ring
Zone B: outside the urban rail ring up to the city
boundary
Zone C: Greater Berlin (area approx. 15 km around
the State of Berlin), including the City of Potsdam

The "Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg" (VBB) is an association of 42 public and private transport companies in Berlin and Brandenburg.
