Line U55
U55 is the designated name for a stretch of the Berlin underground running from Brandenburger Tor to Hauptbahnhof which opened on 8 August 2009.
Covering 1.8 kilometres, this section is part of the extension (also known as the "Chancellor Line") of the U5 line west of Alexanderplatz. On completion and start of operation of the final section of the line between Alexanderplatz and Brandenburger Tor, the U55 name will cease to be used.
