Line U5
Between Hönow underground and Alexanderplatz underground and urban rail stations.
The U5 line currently runs eastward from Alexanderplatz to Friedrichsfelde, making a bend at the Tierpark, where it heads off to the relatively young district of Hellersdorf.
Plans for an undergoundline running beneath Frankfurter Allee existed from a very early point. The elevated railway company started applying for the contract back in 1908, finally receiving it in 1914. In 1930, the section from Alexanderplatz to Friedrichsfelde entered operation.
