The U55 Shuttle Line from Hauptbahnhof to the Brandenburg Gate

Work on the second entry, which is required for fire protection reasons, can only start when the station shell is completely finished.

The second entry will be installed in the initial shaft to the east.

For further extension work on the U5 line linking Alexanderplatz to the Brandenburg Gate, subterranean shield driving machines can be docked directly onto this tunnel, which means that no additional deep tunnel work will be necessary at this site

Construction phase 6: Second exit

Action:
Constructing a second entry east of Wilhelmstraße

Emissions:
Moderate noise pollution from loading and traffic. Moderate noise pollution from open construction pit and cryogenic soil treatment.

Material transport:
Removal of excavated earth, delivery of construction materials.

Site traffic:
approx. 2 lorries per hour
