With our night-time tunnel tour, we take you on a very special
journey of discovery - a one-of-a-kind experience in the
world.
Take a metro carriage through the Berlin subway system
If you want to get to know the underside of Berlin, you should take
this special tour. It is the most unusual tour of Berlin, because
we take you through the subway system at night on a convertible
(open-roofed) metro carriage.
This journey of discovery through Berlin's metro tunnels moves at a
speed of around 35 km/h.
The tour takes around two hours, and a friendly guide will tell you
a lot of interesting facts about special structural features,
different types of tunnels, and the history of the Berlin metro.
The moderation while driving is only available in German.
Major sites at a glance
- You must be at least 18 years old to go on this tour, or be
accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- The tours take place from April to October, at two-week
intervals, in the night from Friday to Saturday (the first tour
starts Friday evening at 7:00 pm, the second one Friday evening at
10:00 pm).
- The tour vehicles consist of a diesel locomotive and three
platform carriages that have a maximum seating capacity of
150.
- Because the tour takes place on open-roofed vehicles,
protective helmets will be provided that you must wear for your
safety.
- We will be on the tracks for around 120 minutes, and cover a
distance of about 25 kilometers. We go along several metro lines,
as well as through a number of reverse-direction facilities and
connective tunnels.
- You may only take photos and videos at certain points. Please
follow the instructions of our staff on site.
- Tickets cost 40 EUR per person per tour, children under 14 years cost 25 EUR per person per tour.
