City Ticket Berlin
Valid only in combination with a BahnCard of the German
Rail.
If your DB (German Rail) train ticket says "Berlin + City", and you
also have either a BahnCard 25 or a BahnCard 50, then your train
ticket (called a "City Ticket") allows you to use any public
transportation to get to the station and back - using a direct
route and only in fare zone A.
The "Mobility BahnCard 100" is valid for as many trips as you want
on public transportation in fare zone A of Berlin.
Where in Berlin can you use your "City
Ticket"?
The "City Ticket" is valid in fare zone A of Berlin, which means
within and including the S-Bahn-Ring (the Ring Line of the urban
rail system). It also allows you to go to and from the train
stations Nöldnerplatz, Magdalenenstraße, and
Berlin-Lichtenberg.
Please note:
If you would like to extend your trip into fare zone B of Berlin,
or if your trip to the train station starts in zone B, you need to
purchase a single ticket for the Berlin AB fare zone, or a
short-trip ticket if applicable. Don't forget to validate your
ticket. You will also need a ticket for the AB zone if your trip
extends beyond the stations Nöldnerplatz, Magdalenenstraße, or
Berlin-Lichtenberg.
If you would like to extend your trip into fare zone C of Berlin,
or if your trip to the train station starts in zone C, you need to
purchase a single ticket for the Berlin BC fare zone, or a
short-trip ticket if applicable. Don't forget to validate your
ticket.
When can you use your "City Ticket"?
The "City Ticket" - which must be used together with either a
BahnCard 25 or a BahnCard 50 - is valid for one trip to the train
station on the day of departure (departure date or "Hinfahrt"
printed on the ticket) and for one trip from the train station on
the day of the return journey (return journey or "Rückfahrt"
printed on the ticket). If you interrupt your journey, the "City
Ticket" is valid for one trip on the latest date stamped by the
conductor on your ticket.
