Validity

- In the VBB-network area also one dog (no nationwide dog transport, supplementary regulations according to the local regulations of the associations are permissible)
- Hand luggage, baby carriages, wheelchairs for the sick and other orthopedic aids such as rollators
Note for users
From 1 June 2026, apprentices in the State of Berlin will be able to purchase the Deutschlandticket at a reduced price, valid from 1 July 2026, and use it on all local public transport across Germany.
Apprentices in Brandenburg can order the ticket from 1 July 2026.
Full-time school-based training (with a subsidy from the states of Berlin and Brandenburg)
Eligible persons:
- Students in vocational training courses (full-time) and at state-recognised training centres for healthcare professions located in Berlin or the state of Brandenburg
- Participants in a voluntary social year, a voluntary ecological year or the Federal Voluntary Service based in Berlin or the state of Brandenburg
- and in the state of Berlin: trainee civil servants in career group 1 based in Berlin
You can apply for the Deutschlandticket Training Subsidy if
- the training provider is listed in the overview of training providers for the Deutschlandticket Training Grant and
- the training comprises a total of at least 20 hours per week for a period of at least 12 months.
Dual training (with a subsidy from the training company)
Trainees on dual training programmes under the BBiG or HWO, as well as trainees at a college of social pedagogy, are eligible to receive a Deutschland Ticket Training Subsidy in the form of a discounted Deutschlandticket Job if
- the training company has concluded a Jobticket contract with a transport operator and
- the training company pays an increased minimum subsidy.
If these conditions are not met, all previous fare offers for trainees under the VBB tariff or the Deutschlandticket remain available.
