No. However, VBB customer cards issued until 31 December 2024 remain valid until the end of their validity period and can be used as proof of use for the Berlin-Ticket S. In these cases, the number of the VBB customer card Berlin S must be entered on the Berlin-Ticket S.
Please note that issue of the proof of eligibility will cease on 30 September 2024, and the VBB customer card Berlin S will no longer be issued after 31 December 2024. After that, you will only need your current benefit decision confirmation as proof of eligibility for the Berlin ticket S.

You can purchase the Berlin-Ticket S monthly ticket at all BVG ticket machines, in the BVG apps and at private BVG sales outlets (e.g. late-night sales outlets, newsagents). To use the Berlin-Ticket S (social ticket), you need a VBB customer card Berlin S or your benefit certificate with your surname and first name entered.

Please note: From 01 January 2025, the BG number will no longer be used. From this date, the full first name and surname must be entered on the ticket and the benefit certificate or proof of benefit must also be carried. The name on the ticket must be the same as the name on the benefit statement or certificate.

You can purchase the monthly Berlin-Ticket S at all BVG ticket machines, in the BVG apps and at private BVG points of sale (e.g. late-night ticket offices, newsagents). The monthly price is expected to be €9 until March 2025.
