Culture

Carnival of Cultures – June 06 - 09, 2025

At the Carnival of Cultures, over 500,000 people celebrate Berlin's colourful diversity with music, dance and art from all over the world at Whitsun. The big parade will take place on 8 June 2025 on a new route along Frankfurter Allee. There will also be a colourful street festival around Blücherplatz with a stage programme, culinary delights and hands-on activities for young and old.

Fête de la Musique – June 21, 2025:

At the beginning of summer, Berlin celebrates the Fête de la Musique for the 30th time - a musical city festival where artists perform free of charge in all districts. On this day, the whole city is transformed into a huge open-air stage for music lovers. The Fête de la Musique takes place at numerous locations in Berlin from 2 pm to midnight and is best reached by public transport - without the stress of searching for a parking space.

State Opera for all – June 22, 2025:

The open-air concert ‘Staatsoper für alle’ with the Staatskapelle Berlin under Christian Thielemann takes place free of charge on Bebelplatz and has been one of the city's cultural highlights since 2007. The street Unter den Linden will be closed for the event, and from 1 pm thousands of visitors can experience classical music at the highest level in the open air. If you are unable to attend, you can follow the concert via livestream.

Berlin Book Festival – June 28 and 29, 2025:

At the book festival, Berlin's Bebelplatz will be transformed into a large open-air bookshop with around 100 publishers' stands and a varied stage programme. The focus will be on readings, celebrity guests and discussions on current topics such as flight, urban life and the digital society. Hands-on activities for children and food trucks also make the festival an attractive culinary event for families. The Berlin Book Festival takes place from 10 am to 8 pm and admission is free.

Sport

Berlin Tennis Open – June 14 - 22, 2025:

At the Berlin Tennis Open in June, the international elite of women's tennis will meet at the Steffi Graf Stadium on the LTTC Rot-Weiß grounds. The grass court tournament brings a Grand Slam atmosphere to Grunewald and delights tennis fans worldwide. A varied supporting programme rounds off the sporting event. Tickets are required and can be purchased online.

International German Para Swimming Championships – June 19 - 22, 2025:

The International German Para Swimming Championships (IDM) will return to the swimming and diving centre at Europasportpark in 2025, following on from last year's record-breaking 20 world bests. Stars such as Taliso Engel, Elena Semechin, Gina Böttcher and Josia Topf will meet up with young talents who can compete with the world's elite. Admission is free - a rare opportunity to experience top-class sport and possible new world records live.

FIH Hockey Pro League Berlin – June 21 - 29, 2025:

At the FIH Pro League in Berlin, the German men will face Australia, Argentina and Spain, while the women will compete against China, Australia and England. Up to 3,500 spectators per day will experience exciting world-class hockey and a colourful family festival with Fan Village and mascot Schlenzi. Tickets are available here.

Family and leisure

Brandenburg Countryside – June 14 and 15, 2025:

On June 14 and 15, 2025, around 140 farms and businesses will open their doors for the Brandenburg Countryside Outing, offering exciting insights into agriculture, fishing, and rural life. Visitors can expect a varied program with farm festivals, guided tours, regional specialties, and activities for children – from petting zoos to carriage rides. Many farms are easily accessible by public transport, especially by regional trains – providing an environmentally friendly and relaxing way to explore the countryside. Pankow Art Festival – June 14 and 15, 2025:

The Pankow Art Festival invites you to Schönhausen Palace Park over two days in June from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the theme ‘In Nature’ in 2025. Over 60 artists will present their works – from paintings and pottery to textile art – accompanied by a varied stage program featuring music, acrobatics, and club performances. Visitors can also stroll through the art mile or take short tours of the palace. You can find more information here.

Long Day of Urban Nature – June 14 and 15, 2025:

On June 14 and 15, 2025, the Long Day of Urban Nature invites you to over 500 events at more than 150 locations throughout Berlin – many of which are not normally open to the public. Under the motto ‘Dive into Wild Berlin,’ the focus this time is on water, accompanied by tours, hands-on activities, and nature experiences for all ages. The venues are easily accessible by public transport – tickets (4 to 6 euros, concessions 2 to 3 euros) are available online. Registration is required for some program items.

Long Night of Science – June 28, 2025:

On June 28, 2025, over 50 scientific institutions in Berlin and Potsdam will open their doors for the Long Night of Science from 5 p.m. to midnight. Visitors can expect an exciting program with around 1,500 events – including experiments, hands-on activities, and discussions for all ages. Tickets cost 5 euros (children under 6 are free) and are available online. The venues are well-connected to public transport, making it easy to get to your destination without having to search for a parking space.
