Culture
48 Hours Neukölln – 3 to 5 July 2026:
48 Hours Neukölln is one of Berlin’s largest independent art and culture festivals and will take place for the 28th time in 2026. Under the theme "Out/Side/In" artists explore topics such as identity, belonging, and social boundaries. The festival brings together established artists and newcomers, transforming Neukölln into an open stage for art, culture, and social interaction for a weekend. The event is driven primarily by the commitment of the participating artists and initiatives.

Classic Open Air at the Gendarmenmarkt – 9 to 14 July 2026:
The Classic Open Air transforms the Gendarmenmarkt into a unique open-air concert venue on several summer evenings. Against the impressive backdrop of the Konzerthaus, the French Cathedral and the German Cathedral, visitors can look forward to a varied programme featuring classical, crossover and pop music. In 2026, performers will include Giovanni Zarrella, Joja Wendt, David Garrett, HAEVN and Alphaville. Lighting displays and the special open-air atmosphere make the festival a highlight of Berlin’s cultural summer.

Open Days at the Berlin University of the Arts – 17 to 19 July 2026:
During the UdK Open Days, the Berlin University of the Arts opens its studios, workshops, practice rooms and rehearsal spaces to the public. Visitors will gain fascinating insights into the work of students in the fields of fine art, design, music and the performing arts. Numerous locations across Berlin are taking part in the open days, including the popular campus on Hardenbergstraße in Charlottenburg. The tour offers the opportunity to discover young talent and current artistic projects.

Christopher Street Day 2026 – 24 and 25 July 2026:
Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin is one of Europe’s largest demonstrations for the rights and visibility of LGBTQIA+ people. Around one million people take part in the events each year. In 2026, the CSD will take place over two days for the first time – with a rally at the Brandenburg Gate on Friday and the main parade through the capital on Saturday. The CSD commemorates the events surrounding the Stonewall Inn in New York in 1969 and has been celebrated in Berlin since 1979.

Family & leisure
Schöneweider Bridge Festival – 4 July 2026:
The Schöneweider Bridge Festival celebrates the cultural diversity of the neighbourhood with music, art and hands-on activities around the Kaisersteg. Visitors can look forward to live concerts, dance, acrobatics, arts and crafts, workshops and exhibitions. Numerous local initiatives and organisations will be showcasing their work and inviting visitors to engage with them. Family activities, open studios and other cultural events make the festival a varied experience for all generations.

Summer Festival at Britz Castle – 5 July 2026:
The Courtyard and Summer Festival at Britz Castle promises a varied day of music, culture and family entertainment. Concerts ranging from jazz and classical to pop, as well as performances by school ensembles and music groups, will take place on several stages. Visitors can try out instruments, explore craft and art stalls, or take part in workshops. For families, there are carriage rides, pony rides and plenty of hands-on activities to keep everyone entertained.

Berlin Board Game Con – 10 to 12 July 2026:
The Berlin Board Game Con is the major event for fans of board games and role-playing games. At the Estrel Congress Centre, visitors can spend three days trying out new and classic games, taking part in tournaments and chatting with other gaming enthusiasts. A highlight is the large games flea market, where old and new games change hands. The fair also showcases exclusive new releases, complemented by food trucks and an outdoor area for relaxing.

Lollapalooza Festival – 18 and 19 July 2026:
Lollapalooza Berlin will take place for the 11th time in 2026, bringing together music, art, food and lifestyle in one huge festival experience. The line-up includes Lorde, Pitbull, Lewis Capaldi and Zara Larsson, amongst others. Alongside the concerts, areas such as Fashionpalooza and the family-friendly Kidzapalooza offer additional entertainment. The festival attracts thousands of visitors every year and is one of the capital’s biggest music events.
